About: Amdocs Limited is a manufacturer of customer relationship management (CRM) software, customer experience solutions (CES), operations support systems (OSS) and billing systems. The company's primary target market consists of Tier-1 and Tier-2 telecommunications companies, however, other industries served include financial services, media and entertainment service providers. Amdocs also provides outsourced customer service and data center operations.

Founded: 1982
History: The company was originally spun off from the Aurec Group (from the latin Aurum, or gold), which was established in 1968 by Morris Kahn. Amdocs initially dealt only with directory services, i.e. Yellow Pages (or in Israel, the name is translated as Golden Pages). Other spin-offs from the parent company were also given similar brand names: the former cable television provider Golden Channels, an internet service provider named Golden Lines, and AIG Golden (a joint venture with the AIG insurance company).

In the early 2000s, Amdocs ventured into the financial services industry with the Dutch bank ABN AMRO, its first major non-telco customer.

Amdocs really looks at the holistic view of much of the customer experience. The company does an exceptional job of describing that and showing how that fits in the context of the operation... Everything fits together ..."
